The Otipemisiwak Métis Government is seeking a Human Resources Manager. Reporting to the Associate Director of Human Resources, this position will be responsible for overseeing and supporting various Human Resources (HR) activities, including but not limited to full-cycle recruitment and onboarding, employee related changes, benefits administration, and specific HR projects. This position will provide direction to multiple HR team members and collaborate closely with the HR leadership team on departmental decisions and the creation or revision of processes and procedures. The Human Resources Manager will possess exceptional interpersonal and written and communication skills, strong cultural sensitivity, superior knowledge of Alberta Employment legislation and Human Resources best practices, and excellent leadership skills.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Manage and provide direction to the Human Resources team, ensuring tasks are completed according to projected timelines and adhere to best practices and values, priorities, and guiding principles of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government.
- Oversee and support recruitment and onboarding activities for multiple departments, maintaining an understanding of the unique needs and functions of each department.
- Oversee offboarding processes, employee related changes, benefits administration, and various other HR functions, including but not limited to performance management, grievances, compensation management, and health and safety, as required or assigned.
- Collaborate with the Human Resources leadership team on the creation or revision of HR policies, processes, and procedures to ensure Otipemisiwak Métis Government practice remains competitive.
- Ensure proper maintenance of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and personnel files in compliance with applicable legislation and Otipemisiwak Métis Government policies and procedures.
- Research and stay abreast on compliance requirements, employment legislation, and industry best practices as it relates to HR processes, including the varying requirements of different departments/sectors.
- Oversee the planning, development, and implementation of Human Resources projects and initiatives.
- Liaise with Otipemisiwak Métis Government department leadership to determine key areas requiring HR support.
- Draft, review, and edit various documents, including memoranda, correspondence, briefings, proposals, letters, and other employment and recruitment related documentation.
- Assist in the management of operational and fiscal activities, including developing and implementing work plans and forecasting within a designated budget.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including service providers, internal Otipemisiwak Métis Government departments, affiliates, and community.
- Maintain a high level of political awareness, cultural sensitivity, professionalism, and confidentiality in interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform supervisory duties, including hiring and training staff, building staff capacity, delegating tasks, and conducting performance reviews.
- Mentor team members through feedback, coaching, and formal evaluations, and provide effective leadership to the team.
- Participate in department and community events, as required.
- Other duties as required or assigned.
