- As the General Superintendent, you will be responsible for the field planning, management, and field execution of assigned civil construction projects with the objective of managing costs, productivity and efficiency, while meeting schedules, safety standards, maximizing equipment utilization and achieving client satisfaction. You will ensure all onsite construction is completed in full accordance with plans, specifications and superior construction practices. You will provide personal leadership to create positive and productive relationships with all internal and external parties in order to maximize the project performance and results.
- What you will do:

- Oversee and manage construction site operations on civil construction projects, while developing a positive environment for site teams to strive for excellence and succeed;
- Use your proactive approach to determine project materials are supplied and work is carried out in strict compliance with our first-class Quality Program;
- Establish, identify, and hire on-site craft personnel, taking ultimate responsibility for their efforts and results;
- Develops and maintains open communication with crews, trades, project team and clients to ensure project performance, safety and quality requirements are met.
- Take a hands-on approach to leading, mentoring and walking with our team on site to support the project team;
- Examines field conditions, corrects inaccuracies and implement cost saving measures;
- Collaborate with our trade partners and consultants;
- Develop and drive the construction schedule (including three week lookahead schedules) in conjunction with the project team ensuring that completion dates and milestones are met;
- Put your problem-solving skills to work and recommend innovative methods that will increase effectiveness and efficiency to ensure project excellence and productivity;
- Be a role model during coordination meetings with our clients and associated representatives;
- Stay on top of workforce training for the site team and ensure all training is up to date;
- Ensure that the project is built according to the approved plan, specifications, shop drawings, and applicable building codes and that all content is current;
- Oversee the management of construction site inventory and work with our Logistics team to ensure accuracy.

This role could be for you if you have
- 15+ years’ experience in the civil and infrastructure construction industry;
- A construction related certificate, diploma or degree;
- A proven track record of project success and team collaboration on civil construction projects;
- Strong knowledge of construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, quality and cost control;
- The ability to quickly identify problematic situations, identify possible causes, produce effective solutions and collaboratively lead a large team to successful completion;
- A passion to develop, maintain and execute the project schedule;
- Good computer skills and previous experience with scheduling software;
- Knowledge of the local market.
