Offshore Construction Manager

**Job Overview**:
The Offshore Construction Manager position demands a comprehensive understanding of Vessel Management (OffCon) principles, leadership in workforce management, and familiarity with a broad range of disciplines including compliance, risk management, and logistics. The Offshore Construction Manager must leverage extensive industry experience to enhance productivity, mentor others, influence company-wide processes and policies for workforce management, and resolve multifaceted technical, operational, and organizational issues that affect project delivery and success.
**Min Salary: 125,300 Max Salary: 188,000**

**Key Tasks and Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for the Navigation, DP or anchor operations in general during their watch
- Responsible for the general stability of the vessel and as such for the registration of all deck loads and additional weights
- Responsible for the supervision, training, and evaluation of all persons in the Bridge crew and maintains and administers discipline to vessel personnel
- Responsible for coordination of all deck, crane, helicopter and supply boat operations during their watch (While project operations are in progress, the above should be done in close consultation with the OCM/Superintendent and/or Deck Foreman)
- Responsible for potable water checks prior to bunkering and correct chlorine dosing of bunkered water
- Be familiar with manuals and procedures, which are applicable for the function, as laid down in the vessel SMS
- Responsible to ensure that correct PPE is in use by personnel under their authority
- Ensure compliance with the vessel’s Garbage Management Plan
- Maintain deck and hotel equipment not covered by the engineering department
- Set watches, assign jobs, approve overtime and ensure that assigned jobs are completed successfully by bridge personnel
- Identify maintenance needs, set and revise priorities, and assign maintenance activities
- Requisition supplies necessary for the safe efficient operations of vessel
- Act as the vessel’s Response Coordinator with reference to the Shipboard Oil Pollution Emergency Plan (SOPEP)
- Be familiar with, and capable of operating the vessel’s GMDSS and other radio and navigational equipment
- Ensure that adequate registration of deck loads is maintained during their watch
- Accurately maintain logbooks, the planned maintenance system and spare part control for deck related equipment
- Assist with medical emergencies as they occur
- Participate in daily pre-shift meetings
- Act as primary Vessel Security Officer Maintain Vessel Security Plan and conduct security drills
- Ensure current MARSEC levels are followed onboard
- Be familiar with all McDermott procedures, including the Safety Management System, applicable to their duties
- Refuse unsafe work and for carrying out all work in accordance with the established safety standards and work practices
- Take part in emergency and occupational onboard training such as, the use of self-contained breathing apparatus, firefighting, man overboard exercises, lifeboat launching, security drills and/or other training as applicable for the function
- Wear, inspect, and care for required personal protective equipment
- Own and lead the implementation, enforcement, and verification of compliance with all McDermott policies and procedures
- Ensure employees understand their responsibility and authority to effectively implement the requirements of all McDermott policies and proceduresEnsure the timely completion of all mandatory training by themselves and their teams

**Essential Qualifications and Education**:
- Nautical Institute DP Operator’s Certificate for DP Vessels
- STCW95
- GMDSS
- Generic and Type-Specific ECDIS training (for vessels with ECDIS)
- Medical First Aid
- Ship Security Officer
- Fast Rescue Craft (If assigned to FRC)
- Nautical Institute Full DP Operator’s Certificate (for DP Vessels)
- STCW medical fitness certificate
- Approved Ship Security Officer Course
- STCW medical fitness certificate
- If the vessel is already sailing with sufficient qualified DP Operators to fulfill the DP manning requirements stipulated in the DP Operations Manual, any additional officers over and above the required DP manning levels need not hold this qualificat
