About the Role:
The Assistant Superintendent will play a role in one of the largest residential developments ever built in Squamish. The Assistant Superintendent directs and coordinates the work of subcontractors and laborers. This leadership position is responsible for the day-to-day management of the construction site on an assigned project, executing field operations safely and in a manner consistent with Axiom Builders objectives.
- Supervision and development of site team members through regular feedback, training and coaching; timely completion of performance evaluations.
- Administer contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, site instructions and change notices to ensure scopes, terms and conditions are properly executed.
- Identify and advise of design deficiencies, schedule interruptions or difficulties, and other project issues; works collaboratively with Project Manager to resolve issues.
- Monitor and evaluate subcontractor performance with regards to safety and scope of work.
- Ensure sufficient manpower is provided to achieve safety, schedule and quality objectives.
- Maintain daily paperwork including field reports, safety inspections, schedule updates, etc.
- Ensures and encourages all employees, subcontractors and contractors are adhering to the company safety policies.
- Works under the supervision of Head Office, communicates effectively with all departments and provides reports as requested
What you Bring:
- Skills and Qualifications _
- At least four to five (4-5) years of experience working on wood-frame or concrete projects as an Assistant Superintendent for a builder and general contractor;
- Previous construction experience in a multi-phase, residential or mixed-use high-rise site will be considered a major asset;
- Solid history of seeing a construction project from preconstruction to project completion;
- Proficiency in reviewing structural drawings, blueprints and construction documents;
- Strong ability and proven experience to work effectively with a site crew of various sizes;
- Red Seal Carpentry ticket or construction related education will be considered an asset.
