Job Summary
the Human Resources Generalist is a key member of the Human Resources team, providing expertise, coaching and advice in all HR related areas - including employee relations, employee programs and interpretation of policies and procedures. On a project-by-project basis, the Human Resources Generalist will work under the general supervision of the Assistant Director, Human Resources or the Assistant Director, Organizational Development. In addition to managing the reward & recognition program (VALUES), the HR Generalist is responsible for general administration and office management of the Department and for maintaining accurate records and files including the HRIS. Provides backup for the Manager of Health & Wellness.

- Manages the reward & recognition program (VALUES) for the Chelsea Hotel.
Maintains excellent working knowledge of the various benefits programs offered and assists maintaining the various program requirements.
attendance at meetings and providing backup support in the administration of the return to work program for modified work assignments.
Manages the coop student and internship program.
Attends career and job fairs, presenting career options to students and conducting interviews as required.
Assists with wage and compensation surveys and analysis as needed.
Ensures the smooth and efficient operation of the Human Resources reception desk.
Liaises with the Payroll department on issues related to team member records.
Maintains all colleague records and employment files.
Maintains updated records of employment equity
Provides office management of the Department, ensuring all supplies and forms are well stocked.

- Provides assistance in the preparation of Chelsea Orientation kits for all new colleagues prior to their start dates.
Updates and maintains the HRIS program, print and distribute reports and audits generated from the HRIS.
Assists in the facilitation of recruitment related workshops such as: resume writing, interview skills, manager interview training, etc.
Assists with the planning and delivery of all colleague functions.
Assists colleagues with inquiries associated with the Langham Hotels career website.
Completes special projects and duties as assigned (ex. Managing the annual MyColleague Survey; serving as the Departmental Representative on the Green Team; budget preparation; sustainability; earth check).
Abides by all the hotel policies and procedures as outlined in the team member handbook, including confidentiality undertaking.
Acts as the face of the Human Resources team, projecting a well-groomed and professional appearance and a welcoming, engaged and empowered manner.
Has experience in payroll and payroll processing.
Requirement

Minimum of 3 years previous administrative experience, preferably in Human Resources; experience within a union environment is an asset

Competent in report writing and improvement facilitation
- Skilful in standards, procedures, reports and communication writing
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Desktop Publisher, Excel

-- College diploma (Hotel school, University and/or equivalent) in Human Resources or Hospitality preferred.

-- Proven or demonstrated ability in working under pressure, taking initiative, leadership and working as a team player, problem solving, prioritising and delegating.

- Willingness to work non-standard hours in the delivery of training programs and participating and planning colleague events.

- Must have good attention to detail
