Human Resource Generalist

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY_
Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist will provide HR support to employees across DCL Canada & UK.
The HR Generalist will support the development and administration of programs and policies aimed at aligning DCL's most important asset, our employees, with the strategic goals of the organization. The HR Generalist will partner with other HR team members, Payroll, and Company Management to foster an employee-centric company culture that emphasizes DCL's Core Values - Environment, Health & Safety; One Team; Customer Centric, and Growth Mindset.
- SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES_
The specific responsibilities of the Human Resources Generalist, while not limited to, include:
- Participate in the development and implementation of effective programs in all key areas of human resources management including talent management, engagement & retention, training & development and talent acquisition.
- Provide support to HR programs including onboarding, salary administration, benefits and time and attendance.
- Administer DCL's HR Information System including providing reporting and analysis.
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for assigned roles, including creating job descriptions, facilitating approvals, job postings, screening applicants, conducting interviews, arrange for pre-employment testing, prepare offer letters, etc. to ensure top talent is hired, transferred and/or promoted.
- Facilitate effective employee communication for items such as company announcements, memos, program updates, policy changes, etc. by determining the appropriate communication medium and disseminating the message(s) accordingly.
- Liaise with employees and provide timely responses and/or action to their inquiries.
- Create, maintain and manage all paper and electronic employee files ensuring accurate and compliant data. Compile reports to support the business and those required per company policy and government programs
- Other tasks and special projects as assigned
- QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE_
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or Organization Development.
- Certified Human Resources Professional from a recognized HR Association preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Knowledgeable in current HR theory, trends, practices, and current employment legislation.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to effectively interface with internal and external stakeholders.
- Results oriented with proven interpersonal and analytical skills.
- Strong attention-to-detail and organizational skills.
- Employee-service focused with a growth mindset.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, applicant tracking systems for recruiting and an HR Management or Information System.
- Ability to travel to all DCL workplaces as-needed.
- WORKING CONDITIONS_
This role will primarily be located at DCL's Corporate office, however travel is required to service all DCL workplaces, particularly to those located in Canada. Exposure to Manufacturing environment when in the plants.
