The Third Party Logistics Manager is responsible for leading operations & customer service department to development the non-asset freight operations for all non-vessel operating common carrier services; immediate focus on rapidly developing team capabilities to handle additional capacity. In addition, this individual will be responsible for creating an environment where all CS Representatives are internally competitive, high performing, self-motivated, follow established procedures and live company values. This individual will also work to strategically develop long-term carrier relationships with the pricing & procurement lead.

**Key responsibilities**
- Develop and maintain best business practices for team
- Recruit, train, develop, and manage the team to ensure individual and company success.
- Create and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) within the customer service & operations department.
- Manage the coordination of freight movements via various modes.
- Identify “struggle” lanes with new and existing carriers and work with the pricing & procurement team to acquire lanes.
- Follow through on each transaction from beginning to end by selling and closing each freight deal with third party carrier partners.
- Provide exceptional customer service leadership.
- Understand and promote company's culture, goals, policies and procedures

**Qualifications, Job Function, Technical Knowledge and Skills**
- 10 plus years working within the Freight Forwarding Industry with a strong focus in Procurement, Global Freight procedures, Booking and Routing Management Control Tower, Logistics, and Supply Chain Management.
- Diploma or certificate from college or university; preferably in international trade, business or finance; and 10 plus years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Graduate of accredited freight forwarding program
- Understanding of Canadian Import/ Export regulations (E-Manifest)
- Strong customer service skills, proactivity and be a team player
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate with clients, carriers, other forwarders, vendors
- Extensive experience working in freight forwarding leadership roles
- Working knowledge of the industry and market conditions
- Strong understanding of procurement and negotiation techniques
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Previous Canadian work experience or experience working directly with Canadian Industries
- Fluent in English
