Are you passionate about empowering youth, fostering community connections, and making a lasting impact? YMCA of Northern Alberta (Red Deer) is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated **Youth Coordinator (Part-time)**to join our talented and dynamic team
As the Youth Coordinator, you will play a vital role supporting our Youth Leadership Team and collaborating with external agencies in implementing unstructured and innovative Youth Programming at Northside Community Centre. Specifically, you will train and support Youth Centre Workers and Mentors to effectively organize child and youth-focused programs that help participants build the skills necessary to navigate life’s challenges. Our Youth programs include Youth Outreach, Youth Centre Mentorship, Teen Nights and Skatepark Mentorship for children and youth 3 - 18 years of age.
The Youth Coordinator should be a positive role model for staff, volunteers, community members, and participants. The time commitment for this role is approximately 25 hours a week, Monday - Friday (NB. Schedule may vary based on program needs).

**Essential Functions**
- Plan, implement, and oversee child and youth-related activities and events, including special events and outreach initiatives.
- Train, and coach Youth Centre Workers, Skatepark Mentors and volunteers to ensure smooth program operations.
- Supervise participants during programming, addressing behavior in accordance with YMCA’s policies, and creating a positive, inclusive environment.
- Work with Supervisors to ensure programs meet high standards and are adapted to participant needs, while managing daily operations on-site and off-site.
- Collaborate with community organizations, schools, and agencies to maximize opportunities for current and future youth participants.
- Work within allocated budgets to ensure cost-effective program delivery.
**What You'll Need**
- A commitment to supporting and inspiring children and youth
- Minimum 18+ years of age
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Previous experience working with, and mentoring, Youth
- Prior leadership experience is an asset
- ** Certifications**: Intermediate First Aid & CPR-C
- Must be able to obtain a satisfactory Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Must be able to complete employer specific WHMIS and Child Protection Training
