Youth HQ provides a competitive compensation and benefits package as follows:
$77,000 - $94,000/year commensurate on education and experience

Youth HQ Foundation Position Description

**POSITION TITLE**:
Facilities Manager

**CLASSIFICATION**:
1.0 FTE, Permanent

**REPORTS TO**:
Executive Director

**AUTHORITY**:
Financial Authority to $3000

**SUPERVISES**:
Facilities Department staff

***:
Establish, administer, and implement policies and procedures in all aspects of vehicular and equipment asset management and facility maintenance, repair, tenancy, and customer service. Manage cleaning, maintenance, facility systems, equipment, and all subcontractors used in Youth HQ facilities. Troubleshoot issues and complaints as well as provide hands on assistance to resolve/repair the issue where applicable. Will also coordinate and direct the design, planning, construction, maintenance, and alteration of facilities, equipment, machinery, and other renovations.

**KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Vehicles, Motorized Equipment, and Rolling Stock**:

- Be proactive in ensuring all Youth HQ owned vehicles, equipment, and rolling stock are operating within required parameters.
- Respond to and manage all aspects of repair and maintenance of Youth HQ owned vehicles, equipment, and rolling stock.
- Manage the procurement of required vehicles, equipment, and rolling stock to meet the evolving needs of Youth HQ.

**Facilities**:

- Be proactive in ensuring all facilities and related equipment are operating within specified parameters.
- Assess facility equipment in terms of anticipated life span and plan for the replacement of equipment as required as it approaches its end of life.
- Develop and maintain a trades and supplier contact list.
- Manage Facilities Department staff or contracted services engaged in facility and grounds operations, cleaning, and maintenance.
- Inspect facilities to ensure compliance with municipal, provincial, and federal regulations.
- In coordination with the Youth HQ Leadership Team, prepare capital and operating budgets related to Youth HQ facilities.

**Tenancy and Facility Rental**:

- Manage processes and relationships related to tenant procurement and retention for the Centre for Social Impact.
- Negotiate leases with potential tenants.
- Negotiate leasehold improvements with current and potential tenants and manage the implementation of required work.
- Respond to tenant needs and concerns in a timely and effective manner.
- Manage all rental requests for Youth HQ facilities including Camp Alexo and various short term rentable spaces in all Youth HQ facilities.

**Human Resources**:

- In consultation with the Executive Director, determine staffing requirements for the Facilities Department.
- Manage team members of the Facilities Department in a respectful manner, congruent with Youth HQ policy, procedure, mission, vision, and core values.
- Provide support, supervision, and recognition to Facilities staff, including probation and annual performance reviews.
- Ensure all Facility Department staff are aware of agency policies and procedures.
- Deal with personnel issues in a timely manner in accordance with Youth HQ policies.
- Approve staff timesheets, vacation, overtime, and special requests for time off.
- Keep staff informed of relevant information affecting Youth HQ and/or the Facilities Department.
- Ensure the team follows best practices and maintains high service levels.
- Work with the Facilities Department team members to implement Facilities related problem resolution and service support plans.

**Financial Management**:

- Develop and monitor annual agency and Facilities Department budgets.
- Approve all Facilities Department related expenses.
- Provide quarterly variance reports.
- Follow and implements financial policies.
- Analyze the Facilities Department budget and maintain cost-effectiveness.

**Additional Responsibilities**:

- Complete special projects as identified by the Executive Director.
- Stas up to date with new developments in the industry.
- Act as a resource to other Youth HQ staff as required.
- Serve on or chair Youth HQ committees as required.
- Support Youth HQ in fundraising and special events as requested and appropriate.
