**Overview**
The Operator is to set up, organize and prepare all aspects of the Co-Ex process and at times to assist in the direction of helpers. They will operate Co-Ex machines efficiently with the highest possible output without sacrificing product quality while keeping scrap or wastage to a minimum. Set up co-ex lines to comply with the customer’s product specifications whilst ensuring the correct blend of raw materials is being used and maintaining a clean organized, work environment to ensure the highest quality product is produced.

**Responsibilities**:

- Operates co-ex lines to maximize output while maintaining high quality output;
- Practice all established internal health and safety procedures;
- Strong problem identification and problem solving skills;
- Clean and maintain equipment and workstation throughout shift;
- Perform all necessary preparation to complete the running of an order;
- Commitment to Quality: Perform quality checks on extruded plastic film produced so that it meets all quality standards;
- Commitment to Teamwork: Assist other operators to ensure optimum production performance;
- Ensure finished rolls are properly packaged according to customer requirements;
- Report any equipment failure immediately to the Production Supervisor;
- Demonstrate awareness of, and follows, all policies and procedures;
- Communicate clearly and effectively;
- Attend scheduled meetings;
- Other duties as assigned.

This position is expected to work rotating continental shifts; 2 weeks of day shift (7am-7pm) and 2 weeks of night shift (7pm-7am).

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Minimum of 2-3 years of extrusion experience in a blown film environment;
- Familiar with Extrusion Manufacturing/Production process and procedures;
- Ability to work as a team;
- Commitment to quality;
- Strong problem identification and problem solving skills;
- Accountability and dependability;
- Effective verbal and listening communications skills;
- Ability to regularly work near moving mechanical parts and in conditions that include heat and humidity;
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labour.
