**About the Organization**:
Right at Home Housing Society (RAHHS) provides a positive alternative for Edmontonians currently without a home, living in substandard accommodation, or spending a disproportionate amount of their income on housing. We offer a range of supportive services for our residents, including a non-judgmental and inclusive community, mentor and peer support, and opportunities for life skill development.

Coordinating with the Director of Human Resources, the Administrative Assistant (Summer Student) will be responsible for supporting the operations of RAHHS with keen organization and technological skills.

**Key responsibilities**
- Develop an internal digital documentation system, including:

- Transforming paper documents into digital ones, using scanning software
- Exploring systems available for file sharing and their benefits and drawbacks (ie: internal server vs. Google Suite); make recommendations to the staff for the best system
- Organizing digital files and employee levels of access; creating folders and subfolders for easy navigation for staff who require access
- Ensuring appropriate staff members have the correct access to digital systems
- Assist the Executive Director with producing orientation manuals for the Board of Directors
- Assist with planning and attending community events at various buildings owned and managed by RAHHS, with the intention of allowing tenants to socialize and/or neighbours to welcome new tenants to the neighbourhood
- General administration tasks, including and not limited to: filing documents, assisting with front-desk reception duties, organizing storage area, etc.
- Other tasks may be requested as needed

**Qualifications**
- Good computer knowledge with an ability to learn how to use new systems; familiarity with Google Suite is an asset
- Attention to detail
- Customer service skills, with some experience in dealing with marginalized populations
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal
- Strong organization skills; Employees must be able to easily follow your work processes and find documentation
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision

**Hours and Compensation**

This is a temporary part-time (0.5 FTE) position, with a nine-week contract from the date of your first working shift. The position will offer a monthly compensation based on a pay rate of $18.00 per hour based on a 30.0 hour work week. Hours are scheduled from 9:00am-3:00pm from Monday through Friday. We are located at 9430-111 Ave, Edmonton, AB.

Employment is conditional upon a satisfactory background check and criminal record check within 10 days of employment.

Expected hours: 30 per week
