**Job Summary**Reflecting the Library’s commitment to continuous improvement and a sense of belonging, the Media Content Specialist contributes positively to change, working collaboratively in a dynamic and respectful team environment.**Responsibilities and Activities**
- The Media Content Specialist contributes to the success of the Library and its impact in the community by participating in a wide range of responsibilities and activities.- ** Engage with Users**
- Work with Subject Matter Experts and Library Staff to track trends and develop high-quality multimedia content that extends the Library experience to live stream and recorded programs.
- Works with third-party vendors and agencies as required
- ** Shape a Positive User Experience**
- Work with Media Production Lead to create video content strategy and plan.
- Ensure that all multimedia content is on brand and champions the Library voice and tone.
- Implement a production calendar to manage media production activities.
- Support the development of concept pitches, scripting and / or storyboards in pre-production activities.
- Keeps abreast of relevant external developments through environmental scanning.
- Ensures resources are allocated appropriately to determine scope of projects.
- Participates actively in initiatives which support and enhance the accomplishment of system goals and objectives
- ** Create a Welcoming Environment**
- Works positively and productively with other staff and contributes to the Marketing Strategy.
- Collaborates with other Production team members to execute photo, video and online program projects.
- Collaborates with Marketing team to create digital video strategy and content, including public release and associated assets.
- ** Facilitate Capacity Development**
- Delivers on-camera and recording training to staff, as required.
- Demonstrates continuous growth and development.
- Works to tight deadlines effectively and efficiently.
- Maintain the Library’s YouTube channel.
- Plan, measure, and report on effectiveness of media content performance.
- Adhere to all Library guidelines, monitor, listen, and respond in a timely, thoughtful, and consistent manner to followers/users
- Other related duties.

**Qualifications**- Bachelor level university degree in Marketing, Communications, or Broadcast Journalism and a minimum or two years’ experience writing or editing for digital communications, or
- A post-secondary diploma in Marketing, Communications, or Broadcast Journalism and a minimum of four (4) years of experience writing and editing for digital communications.- **Pre-Employment Screening Requirements**:- Vulnerable Sector Check
- Successfully complete specified technology use tests
- Valid Driver’s license and insurability under the Library’s insurance program may be required based on operational needs.**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Experience producing high-quality and high-performing content and / or online programming.
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive and collaborative relationships within the team.
- Strong writing, storytelling, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Experience working with talent and staff for on-camera projects.
- Experience working with production equipment, including cameras, lights, microphones, livestream switchers, Adobe Creative Suite.
- Keen desire to stay current with developments in the field
- Experience posting content in a consistent voice on all major social media channels
