**What Will You Do?**
- Supervise, lead and prioritizes the work of the weekend staff.
- Responsible to monitor and maintain all aspects of the Baden operation during the weekend shift. This includes: communication with staff; following occupational health and safety procedures; dealing with employee issues and concerns; handling customer inquiries; managing the movement of freight and generally overseeing of dispatch for the Baden drivers.
- Coordination with Erb International Inc. for their inbound and outbound freight. Ensuring that the LTL freight destined to the U.S. is processed accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure freight is moving according to delivery schedules and appointment times. Work closely with dock staff, routing and dispatch to ensure priority of loading. Assist with working on the dock (i.e. loading and unloading freight, working on a forklift, etc.). Assist with shunting in the yard as required.
- Responsible to plan, monitor and schedule staff to ensure all positions are covered for the weekend in the event of vacation or extended leaves of absences. Have the ability to fill in for positions when necessary, including vacations.
- Responsible for complete knowledge of dispatch system, routing and dock procedures, awareness of driver bid runs, tractor assignments in conjunction with Driver Supervisor, paperflow, building security, company policies etc.
- Ensure that snow is plowed and yards are salted on the weekend, when required; making sure the garbage in and around the yard is maintained and the yard is in a neat condition.
- To work in co-operation with Head Office personnel and other departments when information is requested. Be responsible for the gathering of reports and summarizing those reports for management or Head Office.
- Assist in developing operational guidelines with the Terminal Manager. Recommend changes to operations and follow through with any changes to be implemented.
- Be available for special projects as designated by Terminal Manager.
- To work in co-operation with all staff and communicate daily with Terminal Manager and other supervisors regarding operations.
- Forward any customer requests for rates to the Sales Department and/or the applicable Account Manager.
- All other duties as required.
