Duties and Responsibilities:

- Verify purchase requisitions, clarify unclear items
- Obtain price quotations from catalogs and suppliers - Negotiation capabilities
- Order materials and maintain stock levels
- Adjust inventory when there is a discrepancy
- Review and verify bill of materials from design team for all new jobs, identify stock items, confirm “quantity on hand” with the system and order remaining items if needed.
- Prepare purchase orders by verifying specifications, price and availability
- Monitor and expediting orders
- Manage relationships with vendors to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery and compliance to terms of contracts
- Keep updated records
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate stock is maintained
- Adjusting stock levels as staff signs out stock as well for service department
- Help out with pulling stock for jobs when needed
- May have to help out shipping/receiving if they are short handed
- Updating the production schedule and folders as jobs are being added and shipped
- Help out staff when looking for stock
- Maintaining extra inventory that is no longer being stocked

Job Qualifications:

- Excellent computer skills including MS office, minimum of intermediate level in Excel, outlook and word
- Syspro knowledge is an asset
- Minimum 2 years of related experience
- Proven experience as a purchasing agent or relevant role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and strong attention to detail
- Analytical thinker - Specifically as it pertains to inventory
- Work in a team environment
