**The Role**:
As **Payroll & Benefits Administrator**, you will administer and deliver payroll, benefits, and pension programs, leaves of absence, terminations, new hires, accounts reconciliation, payroll year-end, audits, and related activities for approximately 400 employees. This role reports to the Manager, Human Resources. In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Reviewing exceptional transactions (i.e. overtime, retro payments, leave payments) and processing accordingly
- Working with the team to ensure peer reviews and quality checks occur on all payroll related transactions
- Maintaining and reconciling year-to-date information
- Preparing and reconciling all payroll reports, including journal entries, cost centre information, time and attendance, etc. to ensure correct internal reporting
- Reviewing and reconciling third party vendor billings on a monthly basis (EI, CPP, income tax, benefits premiums, pension contributions, etc.)
- Responding to employee and manager payroll and benefits inquiries
- Working with system vendor to identify and resolve system issues or concerns related to the processing of payroll
Job status: Temporary part time (approx 3 -5 months) - 3 days/week (alternating scheduling - W,Th,F one week, M,Tu,W the next)
Location: 1 Stone Road West, Guelph
**Qualifications**:
- Post secondary degree/diploma in a business related discipline or equivalent experience
- CPA Certification Program or Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certified
- Minimum of five years’ experience in payroll and benefits administration
- Proven experience in payroll cycle, including year-end and audit
- Advanced knowledge of Word and Excel
