**Position Summary and Purpose**:
Position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, preparing financial reports, ensuring financial stability for the organization, and securing financial operations by monitoring and approving financial processing, reporting, and auditing; supervising staff. MPT accounting staff will assist in training for essential job functions. This is a key hands-on role, responsible for the accurate financial reporting of the company.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Overall responsibility for the accounting function
- Prepare monthly and quarterly journal entries, and perform monthly financial closing and reporting
- Responsible for Accounts Payable & Receivable function, as well as General Ledger and Journal Entries
- Perform full bi-weekly payroll cycle (ADP/Ceridian) preparation and accounting for hourly and plan employees
- Bank transactions accounting and reconciliations
- Full reporting, filing, and accounting of HST returns
- Accounting for bank transactions
- Bank reconciliations
- Weekly bank balance reporting
- Perform month and year-end closing, reporting, and auditing
- Minor involvement with payroll
- HST and GST reporting
- Responding to management queries
**Required Education and Experience**:
- Associates degree/DCS (or higher) in Accounting
- Minimum experience of 2 years in accounting
- Minimum experience of 2 years in a management roll
- VALUED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL:_
- Experience with Epicor ERP functionality
- Experience in a manufacturing setting
**Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Characteristics, etc.**
- Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness
- Experience with HR and payroll
- Highly motivated, very detailed and service oriented with a proven track record
- Strong communicator with positive attitude
- Good critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Well versed with MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and QuickBooks
- Experience with A/R, A/P, G/L, and J/E’s
- Knowledge of GST/HST

**Pay**:
**Salary**: CA$60,000 - $100,000
