**About the Role**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Accurately and efficiently process payroll with assistance of HRIS (Ceridian Dayforce) and process related government remittances
- Review payroll transactions for completeness and reasonableness and investigate discrepancies
- Prepare special payments and payroll deduction calculations
- Manage and maintain timely compliance for payroll, legal and tax reporting filings in accordance with applicable provincial standards
- Administer the payroll year-end processes, including preparation and distribution of tax slips (T4, RL-1) and associated government filings and reconciliations
- Assist in the implementation of key initiatives impacting payroll
- Prepare financial reports for leadership and finance department, including reports to support payroll posting in general ledger, vacation accruals etc.

**Requirements**:

- Experience as a payroll specialist in a progressive role
- Previous experience as a team leader (in any capacity)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage payroll for several pay groups while working under tight deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills to foster strong relationships at all levels in the organization
- Solid understanding of payroll best practices and accounting fundamentals
- Diploma or Degree in business, accounting or a relevant field (proven work experience may be considered)
- Asset: Payroll certification (PCP or CPM) preferred
- Asset: Member of Canadian Payroll Association
- Asset: Bilingualism (French/English)
