Today, Burckhardt Compression is a worldwide market leader for reciprocating compressor systems and the only manufacturer and service provider that covers a full range of reciprocating compressor technologies and services. Within Canada, Burckhardt Compression has a strong Services division in which we aim to provide one-stop reciprocating service for our customers. Through our Canadian companies, Burckhardt Compression (Canada) Inc. (BCCA) provides field service, repair and engineering/revamp services and spare parts for any brand of reciprocating compressor.
Reporting to the Director of Sales, this position will be based in Edmonton, AB and will be responsible for supporting the Sales & Services teams in Canada.
**Key Tasks & Accountabilities**
- Provide timely and accurate estimates and pricing to customers.
- Consolidate and review all documents to complete the close out of Repair Work Orders and provide required information to Finance for invoicing purposes on a weekly basis.
- Update the CRM, with all information needed for the sales pipeline including backlog and the Pricing document.
- Actively contribute to the achievement of the Repair & Sales Budgets, EBIT Target and Intercompany Target every year by generating competitive estimates and facilitating work order closeout to capture revenues accurately.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Estimating**
- Receive and prioritize incoming pricing inquiries from both internal and external customers.
- Generate Service/Cost Estimates for parts and services or solution proposals.
- Identify labour, material and time requirements by studying proposals, specifications and other related project documentation. Working with internal and external customers to document clarifications, assumptions and exclusions.
- Compute cost by analyzing labour, materials and time requirements and ensuring profitability targets are aligned with estimates.
- If needed, find and work with external suppliers to capture both material cost and sub-contracted labour cost to be included with estimates.
- Present prepared estimates by assembling and displaying the cost estimates alongside descriptive information so the customer can see the value in the data.
- Convert estimates into Work Orders upon receipt of customer approval.
- Develop estimating tools and processes to increase efficiency and accuracy of estimates, capturing knowledge of SME’s from the Repair and Engineering teams or sub-contractors to help validate the data and past performance.
- Maintain a cost database from completed projects, services and other sources and regularly updating estimation models.
**Work Order Closeout**
- Consolidate and analyze the data on factors that may affect cost (cost of materials, labour, manufacturing or assembly processes, shop rates etc.) with a focus on accuracy.
- Prepare all required documents to closeout completed Work Orders and provide the required information to Finance for invoicing on a weekly basis or for all completed Work Orders with the current month.
- Review completed Work Orders with low or above expected margins with the Director of Sales prior to completion of invoices.
- Prepare a summary of Estimate vs Actual.
**Additional Responsibilities**
- Backup invoicing responsibilities when required.
- Maintain the Service Estimates log.
- Report state of Service Estimates backlog to internal departments as required (Sales, Operations and Finance).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
**Education/Experience**
- Completed post-secondary studies in a relevant Technologist program would be preferred.
- 2+ years of demonstrated experience in the preparation of quotes.
- Essential knowledge in the service of compressors an asset
- Strong customer service focus for both internal and external customers and ability to work effectively and contribute within a diverse team.
- Highly detail-oriented with excellent organization, time management and prioritization skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to successfully adapt in deadline driven and changing environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft computer programs and other relevant service platforms.
- Proficient in English
