We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Transportation Team as a Manager, Transportation Outbound. This role will report to the Director, of Transportation.

In this role you will support safe and efficient operation of the HHSL delivery fleet, across all sites that service our network. Supply Home Hardware Stores Limited Dealers with safe and on-time delivery of their products. Oversee Carrier Safety Management System (CSMS), negotiate and manage third-party carrier relationships to build capacity and support Dealer deliveries and backhauls as required, achieve operational budgets and operational KPIs. Driver performance management. Continuous improvement of the delivery strategy.

**What You’ll Do**:

- Manage a team of Regional Dispatch Supervisors for delivery execution.
- Optimize delivery routes to ensure safe, efficient, and prompt delivery of Home Hardware products.
- Achieve operational budgets, performance, monthly financial gap analysis.
- Minimize operational costs, and review backhaul performance on empty returning routes. Use team resources to record and update vendor/ backhaul locations.
- Consult regularly with the Fleet Maintenance, Safety and Compliance Manager to ensure supply of serviced tractors and trailers are available. Coordinate service and repair work with Truck Shop so departments can do their jobs.
- Record, investigate, and close all accident/incident reports. Organize and preside over quarterly accident reviews. Annual review of Safe Driving Awards and recognition presentations.
- Maintain current knowledge on all Highway and Commercial Vehicle Safety Acts, TDG legislation, and Hours of Service (HOS). Schedule hours of service meetings with Drivers & Dispatchers to discuss non-compliance.
- Be available and on-call 24/7 for anomalies and emergencies, shared responsibility with regional Dispatch Supervisors.
- Ensure all Drivers and Support Team comply with all Home Hardware policies and procedures.
- Develop a talent pipeline of Drivers and Support Team to minimize turnover disruption.
- Develop and attain KPIs pertaining to financial performance and service objectives.

**What we’re looking for**:

- Strong financial acumen as it relates to transportation and fleet operations.
- Knowledge of Supply Chain, working knowledge of the Government Acts that pertain to those functions.
- Safety and compliance, knowledge of Transportation of Dangerous Goods and Driver Hours of Service Regulations.
- Computer Skills including typing, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Mechanical aptitude pertaining to Truck and Trailer R&M, fleet spec.
- Effective leadership with the ability to train and lead a team.
- Able to communicate and interact with all levels at Home Hardware, cross-functional collaboration.
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and function in a busy environment.
