**FASTEST GROWING BASKETBALL PROGRAM IN THE GTA** Are you a _**former collegiate or professional hooper**_ who is ready to transition into your next career in the game you love? At Momentum, we are looking for **motivated individuals** who are passionate about the game, committed to impacting the next generation of players, and dedicated to personal growth and development of their coaching "toolkit". All programs are formulated and based on our proprietary "Mitrovic Method". All staff are trained extensively under this method and go through a certification process during the early stages of working with us. _**We take coach development just as seriously as we take player development**_ **Responsibilities may include, but not be limited to**: - Effective communication and demonstration of concepts while providing verbal and visual on-court instruction_ - Thorough planning and ordering of drills for team and skill development sessions_ - Providing positive and encouraging guidance and support to all athletes, and communicating professionally with all players/parents/administrators at all times_ - Conducting player evaluations throughout the program to provide athletes with constructive feedback for improvement_ - Diligently ensuring the safety of all players during training sessions and games by doing a thorough inspection of the playing area_ - Being a good teammate within the coaching staff, and being coachable while collaborating with supervisors on coaching development plans_ - and more..._ **Required qualifications**: - Extensive professional or collegiate playing experience is preferred_ - Min. 1 year of professional coaching experience required, 3-5 years is preferred._ - Strong ability to evaluate player's strengths and weaknesses_ - Desire to progress a deep understanding of the game and how to teach it to youth_ -_ - Excellent/professional communication and interpersonal skills_ - Possession of both leadership and good teammate qualities with a desire for growth_ - Ability to establish trust and authority with students_ - Confidence to motivate and inspire others to reach their full potential_ - Organizational skills to plan and manage practice sessions and game schedules_ - CPR/First Aid training + certifications, as well as police checks are mandatory_ **About us** Our work environment includes: - Innovative and globally relevant basketball philosophies - Professional development and growth opportunities - The ability to make a positive impact on youth and the sport itself - The ability to transform your life's dedication to hoop into a second career - A culture of excellence and genuine connection are what makes us different **Job Type**: Part-time Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour Expected hours: 6 - 15 per week Flexible language requirement: - French not required Application question(s): - Why do you want to be a basketball coach? **Experience**: - basketball coaching: 1 year (required) Work Location: In person Expected start date: 2025-09-15
