Cambridge, Canada Cambridge Brass Inc. Full time

**Recruiting is like dating right? So a mature and profitable local business is seeking...**

Reporting to the HR Manager, with guidance for Payroll from our VP of Finance, you will be able to manage all aspects of payroll processing for a medium sized, unionized facility (approx. 165 co-workers). We will swipe right on your profile if (choose one that fits you):

- You have had a broad payroll background and want to learn more about HR
- You are fresh into HR and have the drive to learn and grow. Plus you've always liked complex programs / apps / spreadsheets or math
- You have managed complex WSIB and STD cases and want to expand into finance / payroll or HR
- You want to work with an experienced HR professional and grow into manager level competency

But wait - we don't go for long distance relationships (sorry). You will be in the office, not remote, not hybrid. We make things. That doesn't happen remotely. Supporting our manufacturing by being present and available is key to success in this position. You need to live nearby. Normal office hours are 8:00 - 4:30, M-F and we support three shifts - some off hours may be required to accommodate meeting with or engaging with those other shifts.

Here's the more formal description (the short version):

- Process weekly payroll (hourly weekly, salary biweekly) using UKG or similar HRIS systems as may be required
- Process employer reporting for Short Term Disability and WSIB claims including internal communication
- Oversee Job posting and progression within our Unionized work environment in accordance with the Collective Agreement
- Maintain all respective internal and external databases with respect to payroll, benefits and pension
- Communicate and implement Human Resources policies and programs, including labour and employee relations, performance management, organizational development, recruitment, health and safety, environmental compliance, payroll, pension, benefits and legal compliance.
- Execute recruitment processes that attract and retain high performance talent for the organization including sourcing, hiring and onboarding.
- Support all activities in performance management including the administration of performance management and coaching improvement plans.
- Maintain an awareness of, and remain in compliance with, all related Health and Safety guidelines and processes including the administration of Medical Surveillance programs.
- Provide monthly reporting to maximize company-wide communication
- Perform other projects and tasks as assigned.

**Qualifications and Experience**
- College diploma or bachelor’s degree preferred with emphasis on Human Resource studies or;
- Payroll certification from NPI (Formerly CPA)
- 2-5 years of progressive Human Resources experience within a manufacturing environment or;
- Experience full scope payroll processing
- CHRP designation or working towards is very positive
- Familiar with labour relations including collective agreement administration, collective bargaining and related processes
- Experience in recruitment, training, policy & procedure administration, health and safety, payroll, pension and benefits administration
- A solid performer with the ability to establish credible relationships throughout the organization, who sets the example and earns respect through actions
- Able to demonstrate an understanding of business objectives
- Potential leadership and relationship development skills are desirable
- An open and transparent communicator with the ability to garner trust
- High ethical standards of honesty, confidentiality, strong written and verbal skills and timely reporting
