**Meat Department - Butcher's Assistant**

A Butcher's Assistants duties are performed primarily in the cutting room with the temperature ranging from 40F* to 50F* at all times. Work includes lifting and carrying product weighing up to 110 pounds, repetitive arm and hand movements, eye-hand coordination, substantial hand strength, and standing in place for long periods of time.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist the head butcher in daily operations of the butchery department
- Assist in cutting, trimming, and packaging various types of meat according to head butcher's specifications
- Ensure proper food safety and handling procedures are followed at all times
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the butchery department and equipment
- Assist in inventory management and stock rotation
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction

**Skills**:

- At least 1-year experience as a butcher or in a similar role within the food industry (mandatory)
- Knowledge of meat cutting techniques and different cuts of meat
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for handling perishable products
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and food preparation techniques
- Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues

**Salary**: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
