At Fresh St. Market's Meat Department, we provide a broad variety of fresh, high quality products with a strong emphasis on local and specialty items designed to meet and exceed our customer's expectations. We assist customers with any inquiry, package meat products, replenish display cases and maintain a clean and sanitized work environment.

Reporting to the Department Leaders, your duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Job Overview

  • Cutting, grinding, and preparing meats for sale
  • Cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment and ensuring displays and signage are accurate
  • Weighing, packaging, pricing, and displaying products
  • Keeping records, budgets, and inventory
  • Performing quality inspections on meats and other products
  • Negotiating and confirming orders with suppliers
  • Adhering to food safety and sanitation controls
  • Coordinating deliveries or order pickups
  • Performing any additional duties assigned by the Department Leaders

  • You have an impeccable level of cleanliness, attention to detail, and organization
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt well to shifting priorities
  • You are highly self-motivated and work well under minimal supervision
  • You possess strong customer service skills
  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • You work well with others in a high-pressure environment
  • You have 2+ years of experience working as a Butcher/Meat Cutter or related field
  • You have valid work authorization in Canada

The Fine Print:

Upon hire, new employees will be placed in a starting wage between the minimum and P50 (midpoint) of the wage range. The P50 of the range represents an employee that possesses full job knowledge, qualifications, and experience for the position. In some circumstances, the new employee may be eligible for compensation beyond the P50 of the salary range. Factors that influence this decision include full job knowledge, qualifications, internal equity, and experience in a similar role.
