The Manager, Regional Line Maintenance - Western/Eastern US is responsible for all maintenance activities in the Western/Eastern US region. This position is responsible to provide leadership, guidance and oversight in order to coordinate and arrange Line maintenance activities within the region. This includes promoting relationships with vendors and Air Canada local and system personnel to ensure an efficient operation and meet established objectives.
This role is accountable for leading the business plan, policies, practices, and directives for various American and Caribbean line maintenance stations to ensure the seamless execution of maintenance operations within the maintenance ground time. This role provides leadership and direction to regional employees and vendors to ensure safe, serviceable aircraft that meet operational requirements while satisfying Transport Canada (TC) and Air Canada's (AC) high standards of airworthiness.
**Responsibilities**:
- Lead the development and implementation of business plans, policies, practices, and directives for line maintenance.
- Budgetary responsibility of approximately $2-$5 million for Western/Eastern Line Maintenance.
- Coordinate and supervise the maintenance activities required in order to provide safe and serviceable aircraft that meet operational requirements while satisfying Transport Canada and Air Canada standards of airworthiness.
- Ensure adherence of Air Canada standards and requirements by all vendors in the region.
- Prepare, manage and control budgetary costs and revenues for the region.
- Maintain effective relationships with all vendors.
- Manage resources to meet assigned work load and corporate schedule.
- Manage planning oversight for overnight workload.
- Manage shipping oversight for all regional stations.
- Control parts allotment and inventory for regional stations.
- Manage invoice vetting and tracking for regional stations.
- Manage/negotiate contract specifics with providers.
- Review and resolve daily maintenance delays, as applicable.
- Coordinate contractor training and qualifications.
- Act as provider’s liaison with Maintenance Control (MOC) and local station management.
- Communicate timely updates to MOC on aircraft related repairs.
- Ensure that all provider contact information is current in company systems.
- Schedule and perform annual surveillances of providers in all regional stations.
- Support the Senior Director, MOC Transformation as directed.
**Qualifications**
- Certification from an accredited college or university in Aircraft Maintenance is an asset. AME license or equivalent is also considered an asset.
- Proven leadership and people skills.
- Ability to work independently managing time and projects.
- Proven planning, organizational and budgetary skills.
- Good communication skills, verbal and written.
- Proven ability to work under pressure.
- PC proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
- Thorough understandings of Line Maintenance aircraft check procedures and requirements, an asset.
- Knowledge of ground handling contracts, an asset.
