**THE OPPORTUNITY**

**RESPONSIBILITIES AT HAND / WHAT YOUR DAYS WILL CONSIST OF**

**HR & Recruitment Duties**:

- Assist hiring managers with resume screening and conducting pre-screen interviews - both for Environmental and Emergency Service Divisions.
- Support the onboarding process, including preparing offer letters, collecting documents, and coordinating orientation.
- Maintain and organize employee records and filing systems.
- Assist with HRIS updates, ensuring accurate and timely data entry.
- Provide general HR administrative support as needed.

**Payroll Duties**:

- Assist with manual payroll tasks, including enrolling and terminating employees for benefits.
- Add new employees to Powerpay, Payworks, and QuickBooks.
- Manually update vacation hours in reconciliation spreadsheets and Replicon.
- Support timesheet approvals and ensure accuracy in payroll data.
- Provide general administrative support to help streamline payroll operations and allow for a greater focus on system integrations and other projects.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 2 years of administrative and recruitment experience in HR or payroll environment
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask
- Proficiency with HRIS, payroll systems (PowerPay, Payworks, QuickBooks), and Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of Employment Standards and labour laws, primarily in BC, AB, and SK
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively in a team environment
