**Job Summary**:
The YONA-Sistema Substitute Teaching Artists (Woodwinds, Viola, Violin, Brass, Choir) are responsible for providing music instruction to groups of up to 20 students and work collaboratively with the YONA team to provide support for all students in the program.

This is an as needed opportunity that works during the academic school year. Individuals work at the YONA community sites from 3:00 - 6:00 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and from 12:00 - 3:00 pm on Thursdays.

**What you will do**:

- Provide general music instruction to groups of up to 20 youth
- Lead rehearsals and concerts
- Assist students with academic work and supervise break and snack times
- Work with a team of colleagues to provide support for all students in the program
- Collaborate with the entire YONA team to build the culture and curriculum of the program
- Other duties as assigned

The hourly wage for the position is $42/hour.

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary training preferably in music, education, or a related field
- Fulsome understanding of violin, viola, flute, clarinet, trombone, trumpet, or choir pedagogy
- Experience teaching music to youth
- Knowledge of community outreach resources
- Outstanding Imaginative and flexible
- Positive thinking and open interpersonal skills including the ability to engage with diverse youth
