The Francis Winspear Centre for Music is seeking a dynamic individual as a **YONA-Sistema Teaching Artist & Musical Creativity Associate **for our Youth Orchestra of Northern Alberta (YONA-Sistema) program. The Winspear Centre is home to the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra (ESO) and the Tommy Banks Centre for Musical Creativity and is the venue of choice for local community groups and touring artists. Over the last 70 years, the ESO has taken its place as one of Canada’s foremost orchestras and has played a vital role in the cultural life and wellbeing of our city. The Tommy Banks Centre hosts programs that provide all Edmontonians the opportunity to immerse themselves in music - as spectators, apprentices, and creators.

**Job Summary**:
As a YONA-Sistema Teaching Artist, you will teach classes in your instrument of expertise, act as assistant conductor for the La Bruyere Orchestra (LBO), help arrange music for various YONA ensembles and manage the LBO music library. As a Musical Creativity Associate, you will support in the delivery of a range of Musical Creativity programming such as Summer Camps for Kids, Rusty Musicians Camp, B-Sides, Symphony for Kids, Education concerts, Open Dress Rehearsals, and Adopt-a-Player.

**What you will do**:

- Lead rehearsals and concerts
- Support in the delivery of Musical Creativity programming
- Work with a team of colleagues to provide support for all students in the program
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary training preferably in music, education, or a related field
- Experience teaching with YONA-Sistema and have an understanding of music pedagogy
- Experience with orchestral conducting and creating arrangements suitable for various skill level of students on an array of orchestral instruments
- Knowledge of community outreach resources
- Outstanding interpersonal skills including the ability to engage with diverse youth

The salary range is $56 000-$62 000 per year.
