The Francis Winspear Centre for Music is seeking a dynamic individual as **YONA**-Sistema Teaching Artist (Choir) for our Youth Orchestra of Northern Alberta (YONA-Sistema) program. **Job Summary**:
The YONA-Sistema Teaching Artist (Choir) is responsible for providing choir and general music instruction to groups and work collaboratively with the YONA team to provide support for all students in the program.

This is a part time position contract position working 10 months. Individuals work at the YONA community sites for 3 days a week during after-school hours.

**What you will do**:

- Provide choir and general music instruction to groups of up to 40 youth
- Lead rehearsals and concerts
- Assist students with academic work and supervise break and snack times
- Work with a team of colleagues to provide support for all students in the program
- Collaborate with the entire YONA team to build the culture and curriculum of the program
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary training preferably in music, education, or a related field
- Deep understanding of voice and choir pedagogy
- Experience teaching music to youth
- Knowledge of community outreach resources
- Outstanding interpersonal skills including the ability to engage with diverse youth

The starting salary for the position is $20 000 based on a 10 month contract.
