**Job Summary**

**Job Title**: Accounting Assistant

**Department**: Administrative

**Work Location**: Surrey, BC (on site)
**Status**: Regular Full-time (RFT)

**Salary Range**: $50,000.00 to $55,000.00, salary will be based on experience and suitability for the position.

**Responsibilities**
- Monitor and responsible for Accounts Payable tasks and functions.
- Complete assigned reporting & other tasks accurately, professionally & on schedule.
- Month End Closing Entries.
- Assist with Year End processes.
- Monitor and responsible for Accounts Receivable tasks and functions.
- Prepare various reports using excel macros.
- Reconcile monthly bank statement and credit card statements.
- Reconcile and post weekly shipping invoices.
- Accurate, attention to detail & record keeping.
- Communicate in an effective & timely manner regarding client & vendor finance issues.
- Operate in a financially responsible manner.
- Strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines & achieve company goals.

**Accounts Payable**:

- Review and post vendor invoices for Purchase Orders
- Review vendor statements for missing invoices and credits.
- Assist with weekly cheque and EFT run.
- Post company expenses and vendor invoices in Quickbooks.

**Accounts Receivable**:

- Posting cheque, credit card and direct deposit payments.
- Issuing client statements for overdue accounts.
- Review client profiles for credit limits and perform credit checks.
- Filling out client forms and EFT forms.

**Team Membership**:

- Work effectively as part of the Finance team to service our clients, vendors and team.
- Work in tandem with all internal teams, including but not limited to Customer Service, Fulfilment and Sales.
- Communicate in an effective & timely manner regarding financial & client issues.

- Perform & complete duties as deemed appropriate by management.

**Qualifications**

Education, Experience, Skills, Expertise:

- DSC / DEC (preferred)
- 1 to 2 years of work experience in accounting
- Quickbooks experience (minimum 1 year working experience required)
- Bookkeeping (minimum 1year working experience required)
- Intermediate Excel & MS Office knowledge is required.

- Strong written & verbal communication, organizational & time management skills, plus the ability to multi-task during increased work volumes.
