We are currently looking for a **full-time Head Chef/Food & Beverage Supervisor** at our **Markham **location, who enjoys partnering with team members to ensure that services provided meet or exceed guests’ expectations.
The Head Chef/Food & Beverage Supervisor plays a critical role in planning, organizing, and evaluating all aspects of the Bistro operations. They will maintain appropriate levels of inventory to ensure that all orders delivered to bistro patrons are of top quality, and build professional relationships with our bistro members through consistent communication and presence.
**WHAT YOU WILL DO**:
- Oversee the hiring, training, and guiding of both back and front of house staff, ensuring a positive culture among the team.
- Build and maintain outstanding relationships with club members and patrons of the Bistro.
- Be accountable for daily, monthly, and annual reconciliation of billing.
- Maintain cash floats and petty cash for the Restaurant.
- Train and develop staff in all areas of restaurant and bar operations to meet the highest standards of customer service.
- Be in charge of scheduling staff.
- Provide performance feedback to employees to enhance customer service.
- Adhere strictly to all Health and Safety regulations as set by provincial legislation.
- Organize and facilitate parties and special events.
**WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL**:
- **Minimum 3 years of experience in a Food & Beverage Supervisor/Restaurant Manager role,** preferably within diverse restaurant venues and business models, i.e., banquets, à la carte, buffet services, both in casual and upscale properties.
- Previous culinary experience in a full-service restaurant or bar with **strong culinary production skills.**:
- Expert verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Smart Serve Certification is required.
- Food Handler Certification is required.
- Must be computer literate and highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Familiar with Alcohol and Food Service regulations, laws, and practices.
- Ability to work as a leader with mínimal supervision while maintaining consistent communication with Club Manager, Food and Beverage Director, and Head Office.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing and vehicle to be used to travel to store/LCBO/Beer store if required in-between main inventory deliveries, in order to maintain adequate inventory levels in peak or unexpected times.
- Completed or working towards post-secondary education in Culinary Arts, Hospitality & Horticulture, and/or a Cook’s Trade Certificate is an asset.
- Experience with restaurant systems for sales and inventory management is an asset.
- Back of the house experience is an asset.
