Food for Thought Catering is seeking a highly experienced and passionate **Pastry Chef** to join our dynamic culinary team. This role is ideal for someone with a **minimum of 12 years of experience** in professional pastry work, a deep love for baking, and the creative vision to craft beautiful and delicious desserts. You will be responsible for producing high-quality pastries that enhance our catering menus and impress our clients at a wide range of events, from elegant corporate functions to festive celebrations.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to company standards and seasonal menus, specifically bars and slab cakes
- Decorate cakes and pastries with artistic flair while maintaining consistency in taste and quality.
- Package and present products attractively for deliveries and catered events.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic work environment in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to develop custom desserts and themed menus for special events.
- Monitor and manage inventory of baking ingredients and supplies; communicate needs to the purchasing department promptly.
- Operate and maintain baking equipment and tools properly and safely.

**Qualifications & Skills**
- **Minimum 12 years of professional pastry experience** in catering, hospitality, or commercial kitchen environments.
- Expertise in baking techniques, dessert development, and cake decoration.
- Strong eye for detail and artistic presentation.
- Solid understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-paced, team-focused kitchen.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment, including ovens, mixers, proofers, and decorating tools.
