**Summary**
For nearly two centuries, St. Paul’s Cathedral has been a religious focus in the heart of downtown London. St. Paul’s is now reimagining what the future may hold. St. Paul’s has recently undertaken an extensive renovation as part of the creative sector hub and is looking forward it opening the space not only to the downtown core, but to the wider London community. The Cathedral is also home to Paul’s Place which greets guests for both the food bank and meal program. We give support to London's most vulnerable citizens.
The receptionist position will be the front face of the St. Paul’s and will greet everyone who enters the Cathedral. We welcome all our neighbours - those living in the high rises and those living in tents. This person will answer the phone and receive packages and goods. The position will also provide support for Paul’s Place.
**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**
- Front face of Cathedral - receiving people entering building
- Receive mail/packages/deliveries
- Work with Paul’s Place as required regarding deliveries/programs.
- Answer phone and direct calls as necessary.
- Direct individual/groups to appropriate room(s).
- Act as initial security/screening of visitors.
- Update Cathedral announcements in front lobby area, and other locations as requested by the Office Manager.
- Other duties that may be assigned by the Office Manager or Dean.
**Qualifications**
- Ontario Grade 12 Graduation Diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of computers and other technology are considered an asset.
**Competencies**
- Outgoing, friendly, a strong team player.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent with time management
- Capable of working with mínimal supervision
- Capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite of products.
- Neat personal presentation essential. Cathedral clothing may be supplied.
**Working Conditions**
- Duties will be performed primarily inside the Cathedral of St. Paul’s.
- This position requires periods of walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs and working with computer equipment and other forms of technology.
**Training**
- The receptionist will adhere to all Cathedral policies and procedures.
- The receptionist will take all training as required by the Cathedral.
**Hours of Work**
- This position is to be considered full-time
- The hours will be to a maximum of 35 hours per week.
- Workdays will include Monday to Friday.
- The hours of work will generally occur between 9:00 a.m. and 4 p.m.
- Although the working hours are generally set, the schedule may be altered at the discretion of the Office Manager.
**Reporting Structure**
- The receptionist position reports to the Office Manager.
Pay: $17.20-$20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
