**Job Summary**

The AP Specialist is responsible for day-to-day accounts payable functions which include but are not limited to timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, ensuring smooth vendor relationships, and maintaining accurate financial records.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Invoice Processing**:

- Receive and review invoices from vendors, verifying accuracy and completeness.
- Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents.
- Code invoices with appropriate general ledger account codes.
- Enter invoices into the accounting system for payment processing.

**Vendor Management**:

- Set up new vendors in the accounting system, ensuring accurate information and documentation.
- Maintain vendor files and update contact information as needed.
- Respond to vendor inquiries in a timely and professional manner, resolving any invoice discrepancies or payment issues.

**Payment Processing**:

- Prepare and process payments through various methods such as checks, ACH transfers, and wire transfers.
- Ensure timely payments are made to vendors in accordance with agreed-upon terms.
- Reconcile vendor statements monthly, identifying and resolving any outstanding issues.

**Other Tasks**:

- Oversees management of employee credit card statements and payments.
- Prepare bank reconciliation report to ensure that the bank statements reconcile with Sage and all the direct bank payments, receipts and withdrawals, and cleared and outstanding cheques are all accounted for in Sage.
- Assist with other general finance duties as required.

**Knowledge Required**
- Minimum 3 years of experience in accounts payable.
- University / College degree in Accounting or Diploma.
- Experience with MS Office, especially Excel
- Experience with Sage ERP systems an asset.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and concepts

Work Location: Mississauga, ON - On-site

Pay: $65,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
