We’re looking for a **Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator **(12 month maternity leave contract with possible extension) to join our Valley Feeds team in Cambridge, Ontario. You will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the purchasing of all products, materials and inventory that flow in and out of the Valley Feeds store. You will be our product ambassador ensuring that the products we carry at Valley Feeds are high quality and readily available. In addition to this you will work as a part of the Valley Feeds retail team and provide superior customer service support to both staff and customers.

What you’ll do: *
- Reconcile daily sales, noting any discrepancies on invoicing and payment methods
- Manage item transfers between site locations
- Ensure store and warehouse are stocked by creating PO’s and following up with vendors
- Fulfill online orders and ship product
- Manage Valley Feeds online pricing, stock and add new items
- Complete weekly, monthly and quarterly cycle counts on high moving stock and adjust accordingly
- Monitor stock levels, creating purchase orders as needed
- Sign for all incoming orders and physically check and receive all PO’s
- Unload trucks with tow motor as needed
- Request credits from vendors as needed
- Update all pricing for the store, based on cost
- Maintain professional relationships with all key suppliers
- Maintain cleanliness of the warehouse

**Your background includes**:

- Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or equivalent
- 2+ years of working experience in purchasing and/or supply chain management role
- Experience with inventory control and with ERP systems
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Proven problem-solving and organizational abilities
- Driven, self starter with highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Independent and able to work in a team environment
- Keen eye for detail and completing tasks with a high level of accuracy
- You must be able to lift 50 pounds and be on your feet for extended periods of time
- Forklift experience is an asset

**Working with us**:
Our Valley Feeds store is located at 486 Main Street East in Cambridge, Ontario. Store hours are Monday to Saturday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, closed Sunday. This is an in-person contract position, covering a 12 month maternity leave with possibility for extension beyond 12 months. Hours for this role are Monday to Friday 9:00am to 6:00pm.
