Bring your excellent research, analysis and writing skills to our team as a Policy Analyst within our Office of the Registrar (OTR) department.

The OTR department ensures that the College meets its mandate of putting patients first in all the work we do. The OTR sets the College’s strategic priorities, and oversees regulatory, compliance, and operational functions. The OTR maintains various stakeholder relationships, including with the College’s Council, statutory Committees and government stakeholders.

You will provide multi-faceted support to the OTR department and to the College as a whole. This includes strategic and cross-divisional projects and the review and development of College Standards and other resources. You are a disciplined and focused professional who has in-depth experience researching and analyzing complex policy issues and supporting senior staff. You are a collaborative, diligent and detail-oriented professional with superior written and oral communication skills.

What can I expect to do in this role?

**Reporting to the Manager, Standards and Strategy, you will**:

- Assist in the review and development of College Standards and other resources articulating professional and ethical expectations for Ontario dentists
- Develop supplementary and information resources for the public and the profession
- Manage working groups, as required, for the development or review of standards or other guidance documents
- Support the Registrar and Deputy Registrar in developing materials for the College’s governing Council and Executive Committee, as needed
- Support the College in the development of internal policies and/or business rules, as required
- Respond to requests from external stakeholders for College feedback
- Assist with strategic, cross-divisional projects supporting the College’s Strategic Plan
- Conduct environmental scans to assist the College in identifying issues, developments, and disruptors that have relevance for the public and/or the practice of dentistry
- Partner with Communications in facilitating increased engagement with patients, the public, the profession and other stakeholders in College initiatives
- Develop and manage external consultations with professional, public and organizational stakeholders

What skills and background do I need?

**The Policy Analyst requires**:

- Advanced degree in a relevant field (examples include health policy, health administration or law)
- Minimum of two years’ experience within a health policy role
- Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills
- Proficient oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability in project management
- Proven ability to work independently on complex projects
- Ability to lead cross divisional and external initiatives
- High emotional intelligence, and collaborative working style
- Experience working effectively in a team environment to achieve organizational goals
- Proficient Microsoft Office skills, particularly presentation preparation
- Ability to leverage data, empirical research and other forms of evidence to support proposals and analyses
- Facility with identifying trends and crafting stories with data to support decision-making
- An understanding of the Regulated Health Professions Act and other relevant health system legislation would be an asset
- RCDSO is building its bilingual (French/English) capacity and excellent French language proficiency is an asset

Compensation and Total Rewards
- Base annual hiring salary from $111,631 to $125,585, commensurate with experience
