The Ministry of Infrastructure's Provincial Infrastructure Policy Unit and Infrastructure Intelligence Unit are seeking two Policy Analysts to conduct research and analysis and provide program support and development on a range of policy issues, options and studies. The Provincial Infrastructure Policy Unit conducts research, consults and provides strategic advice on provincial infrastructure policy priorities, ranging from developing approaches to strategically guide infrastructure investments, to new and emerging initiatives such as integrating climate change considerations into infrastructure planning. The unit collaborates across the Ministry of Infrastructure and with central agencies and ministries to advance cross-government initiatives. The unit also provides secretariat support for executive level cross-government forums (e.g., the Deputy Ministers Infrastructure Steering Committee). The Infrastructure Intelligence Unit provides analysis and strategic, evidence-based advice to senior leadership to support the government in making smart, targeted infrastructure investments. The Unit provides a cross-sectoral, provincial lens to infrastructure planning and delivery. Refer to the "How to apply" section if you require a disability-related accommodation. **What can I expect to do in this role?**: You will: - Conduct research and analysis to support the development of provincial infrastructure policy and programs - Assist in the development of policy documents, briefing notes and presentations for senior management - Provide liaison services with internal and external stakeholders - Provide support to the branch on a range of policy issues, options, studies and special projects - Participates on committees and task groups on the analysis of project designs, issues and criteria to promote alignment with the province's long term infrastructure planning strategy **How do I qualify?**: **Research, Analytical and Project Management**: - You have experience with researching and assessing the relevance of new developments and emerging practices and issues pertaining to social and economic infrastructure planning. - You can prepare technical analyses and reports, provide evidence-based data and interpretation to support briefing notes, policy documents and Cabinet submissions. - You have project planning and management skills to establish priorities and ensure completion of studies within timelines. **Communication and Consultation Skills**: - You have written communication skills to draft reports, briefing notes, and correspondence. - You have oral communication skills to provide advice and present information to colleagues and senior management. - You have interpersonal skills to liaise and build networks with internal/external contacts and stakeholders and participate in inter-ministerial working groups to discuss and exchange information. - You are proficient with computer programs (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint). **Technical and Decision-Making Skills**: - You have the ability to acquire knowledge of infrastructure sectors to coordinate policy and program development. - You can identify gaps, probe for additional information and make recommendations. - You can contribute to infrastructure planning proposals, recommendations, analytical reports, discuss
