The Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) is a self-regulating, not-for-profit organization that is governed by the_Architects Act_, a statute of the Government of Ontario. Its principal object is to regulate the practice of architecture.
Position Summary
Reporting the Manager, Policy and Government Relations, the Policy Analyst will support a variety of specific Council initiatives related to policy matters that affect the architectural profession.

**Responsibilities**
- Conduct targeted media monitoring to identify emerging or evolving issues
- Research, analyze and report on issues related the architectural profession
- Monitor, analyze and report on specific government initiatives and legislation
- Assist in the development and delivery of Council policies, programs and positions
- Development of Council programs and positions
- Support various Committees and Task Groups

Qualifications:

- Experience in policy and government relations
- Thrive in fast paced environment with that involves ongoing and sometimes rapidly emerging files
- Creative thinker who is both detail and deadline focused
- Strong ability to research, analyze and synthesize information
- Experience creating briefs, position papers, official submissions, outreach and other related documents
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Post secondary degree in policy, government relations or a related field
- Knowledge of municipal planning process is preferred
- Familiarity with the architecture/design/construction industry is preferred
