**Job Overview**

**Duties**
- Manage **patient scheduling and appointments** efficiently to optimize office workflow.
- Maintain **accurate patient records** while ensuring compliance with **PIPEDA and PHIPA, Ontario Health Guidelines, and York Region Public Health regulations**.
- Handle incoming phone calls, address inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate staff members.
- Assist with clerical tasks such as **filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies**.
- Manage **insurance claims, billing, and payments**, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Support human resources tasks, including **onboarding new employees** and maintaining personnel files.
- Supervise and provide guidance to **junior staff** in daily operations as needed.
- Assist healthcare providers with **medical procedures and examinations**.
- Perform **phlebotomy and collect lab specimens** following standard protocols.
- Educate patients on **medical procedures, prescriptions, and post-visit care**.
- Ensure exam rooms are properly sanitized, stocked, and prepared for consultations.
- Monitor and maintain **inventory of medical supplies and equipment**.
- Assist in **referrals, diagnostic imaging bookings, and specialist coordination**.
- Stay updated with **Ontario Health Guidelines and York Region Public Health protocols**.
- Ensure patient and office compliance with **infection control, safety regulations, and privacy laws**.
- Coordinate with public health officials for **reporting and compliance requirements**.

**Requirements**:

- **Minimum 2 years of experience** in a medical office setting.
- **Proficiency with OSCAR Pro EMR** is required.
- **Phlebotomy Certificate and License** is mandatory.
- **Multilingual skills are an asset**:

- Strong **organizational skills** with the ability to multitask efficiently.
- Proficiency in **Microsoft Office Suite** and phone systems.
- Ability to work in a **fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail**.
- Experience in **team supervision or office management** is advantageous.
- Excellent **verbal and written communication skills** for effective patient and staff interactions.
- A high level of attention to detail is essential for maintaining accurate records.
- **Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Certification** is mandatory

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Medical office: 2 years (required)

**Language**:

- English (required)
