The Office of the Integrity Commissioner (OICO) strives to encourage a culture of integrity and accountability. The Office is seeking an innovative, media-savvy and detail oriented Communications Specialist to provide communications and outreach support in order to fill the Office’s mandates as a Centre of Excellence in public sector ethics.

**What You Will Do**

The Communications Specialist will have an integral role in assisting with the development of communications strategies, education and training content, and in ensuring these activities are carried out in a professional and effective manner.

Reporting to the Manager for Communications and Outreach, you will act with integrity to:

- Compile information for, and contribute to the writing and editing of, a variety of communications materials, including annual reports, speaking remarks, presentations, outreach materials and e-newsletters.
- Liaise with Office mandate areas to develop high-quality, accurate communications products and support the design, production and publication of these products.
- Use technology to enhance communication products (e.g., creating graphic elements) and add interactivity to outreach and training activities (e.g., using online polling and video features).
- Contribute to the planning, review and updating of the OICO website and social media sites.
- Prepare responses to media inquiries, general inquiries from members of the public and research/academic requests.
- Co-ordinate the planning of events, meetings, training presentations and other outreach activities.

You demonstrate excellence because you have:

- Excellent oral and written communication skills, an eye for detail and accuracy, and the ability to distill complex and nuanced ideas into plain language;
- The ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with staff and stakeholders; and
- A good understanding of the fundamental principles of the_ Members’ Integrity Act, 1994,_ the_ Public Service of Ontario Act, 2006,_ the_ Lobbyists Registration Act, 1998, _the_ Cabinet Ministers’ and Opposition Leaders’ Expenses Review and Accountability Act, 2002 _and the_ Public Sector Expenses Review Act, 2009_, for which the Integrity Commissioner is responsible.
