Thales people architect solutions that support 85 million mainline and suburban passenger journeys, worldwide, every day. Our Rail Signalling and Communication systems are used on metro lines across major cities, and 72,000 kms of route, 52,000 trains per day in 16 countries are controlled by our Traffic Management Systems. Together We deployed the first-ever nationwide ticketing system which processes over 50 million ticketing transactions in 100 cities daily.
Reporting to the Marketing & Communication Manager, the Communication Specialist works directly with members of the leadership team of the Urban Rail Signalling (URS) Business Line (BL) and coordinates the internal and external communications activities for the BL to deploy the corporate communications strategy and deliver the objectives established by the BL and the Global Business Units (GBU).
Key Accountabilities:
For the external communication, the Communication Specialist is in charge of:
- External product and project-related communications on business strategy;
- Definition of BL messaging working closely with country communicators to ensure buy-in and engagement;
For the internal communication, the Communication Specialist is responsible for:
- Ensuring cascading of Group or GBU information towards BL teams
- In coordination with BL Head and HR team defines and implements communications strategy reflecting the BL’s business challenges.
- Accompanying BL transformation programs, defines messaging with BL Head and HR team, recommends and implements best channels to contribute to achieve objectives.
- Providing global messaging and supports country communicators in deploying this locally.
- Coordinating closely with GBU Internal communications
- Ensuring regular flow of information around the BL through a mix of channels (Intranet; Internal events/ roadshows/ webcasts/ Team Briefs etc.; Facilitation of events such as « lunch and learn » to share added value, cross BL
Key Requirements:
- University degree or equivalent experience with specialty in Communications, International Trades, Government Relationships, Multimedia or Business Administration
- 3 to 5+ years of experience in Communications
- Determination, curiosity, ability to create and build a sustainable network and strong business relationships, openness to other cultures.
