**Communications Specialist**
***you will
** **be responsible for writing and distributing blog posts, trade and consumer-facing articles, press releases, internal announcements and content for web and print. The Communications Specialist also proofreads copy, is involved in planning editorial content and supports the communications coordinator where needed. This role is responsible for producing accurate, compelling, and engaging copy across a multitude of channels and liaising with various parties both internally and externally for the purpose of content creation and fact-checking accuracy. The position reports to the
**Communications & PR Manager **and will be located in Toronto, ON.

**What You’ll Do**:

- Lead the development of blogs, magazine articles and newsletters while supporting with press releases and internal _communications and_ distribute as required_._
- _Research and gather information from internal stakeholders and/or external sources to plan and write a variety of communications. Ensure all communications materials are written factually per Sunwing offerings and have proper grammar, spelling and adhere to the Sunwing Communications Style Guide. _
- _Lead the brainstorming and development of future long-form content and audit the style guide to maintain relevancy. _
- _Write compelling, _persuasive,_ and unique marketing and advertising copy that sells to help bring our products and services to life on our websites and on various channels_._
- _Proofread and edit brochures, _flyers,_ and magazines as necessary._
- _Proofread and edit a variety of Sunwing Travel Group branded content for grammar, _accuracy,_ and tone._
- _Work across all channels to produce high quality, engaging copy adhering to brand standards and style guide, matching a variety of tones to align with each brand._
- _Support and guide the Communications Coordinator and Communication Intern._
- _In partnership with PR & Communications Manager, support the Communications Team to ensure a balanced workload and find opportunities to help grow their skills._

**What You’ll Need**:

- three (3) years of experience as a copywriter or similar _
- _Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Media, PR, or related field _
- _Outstanding writing and editing skills_
- _Ability to translate key messages into _copy._ _
- _Demonstrated ability to adapt writing style for different _audiences._
- _Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy _
- _Focused on organization, multi-tasking and meeting tight, often competing _deadlines._
