Student Placement and Services Officer

This position is designed to provide support to students in work experience placements including internships, co-op placements, full and part time positions with Pharmaceutical, Clinical, Food and Cannabis industries. As part of the AAPS team, the Student Placement & Services Officer will contribute to the development and implementation of a comprehensive placement and career services program at AAPS.
**Responsibilities**:
- Facilitate either paid and unpaid placements, including internships and/or co-op placements and/or assignments for various programs.
- Engage with employers to develop and foster placement opportunities for students.
- Design and implement student work-readiness and career development programming, including resume development, interview preparation workshops, and job search techniques.
- Support students and liaise with faculty throughout the development and implementation of capstone projects.
- Assist with placement program promotion, including presentation to the employers and designing presentation and promotional materials to ensure program growth with both students and employers.
- Event planning to support initiatives within Career Services and academic schools that raise the profile of AAPS and its students and graduates.
- Support faculty with student placements and develop mentoring support.
- Support businesses and employers who provide work-placement to AAPS students and graduates.
- Utilize various online and software tools that support students’ career development.
- Organize and conduct group orientation and networking events for all stakeholders - including students, employers, faculty, and the community.
- Compile and share student experiences such as key learnings, student and employer recommendations, or endorsements regarding their work experience.
- Maintain a database of employers, and student placements as part of Key Performance Indicator (KPI) of the college.
- Support and expand the list of participating employers in the field of Pharmaceuticals, Food and Cannabis.
- Other related duties as assigned.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Bachelor’s degree is an asset.
- Strong understanding of the Canadian Pharmaceutical and/or Food and Cannabis Industries.
- Experience in the Canadian Pharmaceutical industry is a strong asset.
- Familiar with LinkedIn social media platform.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and networking skills.
- Experience in career development, student placement, employer relations, and other experiential/work-integrated learning.
- Excellent time-management and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability and desire to work independently in a fast-paced environment and complete multiple tasks and a large volume of work in a timely and effective manner.
- The ability to work well with others, both internally and externally, from a wide variety of backgrounds.
- Skilled in using Microsoft Office.
**Salary**: From $50,000.00 per year
