**What’s the ask?**
Reporting to the Director, Small Business Solutions (SBS) within our Commercial Operations, the Manager for Small Business Solutions will develop and execute the commercial lines strategies for small business clients. This includes contributing to the development and deployment of initiatives to drive operational efficiency, support revenue growth, and enhance client service.
The Manager, Small Business Solutions will also: maintain employee engagement; manage workload among direct reports; provide coaching as opportunities arise; be a key player in leading market relationship management for small business; and will be involved in setting key team strategic initiatives and metrics to support the overall corporate business plan.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide guidance and coaching to direct reports in support of personal growth and professional development
- Effectively manage workloads and monitor through regular quality review exercises to ensure the team is adhering to established service and quality standards.
- High level focus on engagement to establish a positive and collaborative working environment.
- Work closely with the Department Managers to execute strategies to support the overall service and sales goals of the company and department.
- Create and deliver sales strategy for attracting new clients to enhance the growth of SBS.
- Accountable for leading relationships and collaborating with representatives from various markets with respect to small business
- Complete monthly statistical analysis and reporting on key metrics for the small business solutions team.
- Work closely with the Director, Commercial Operations to coordinate annual business plans to achieve success
- Develop and deliver solutions that drive efficiencies and enhance the overall client experience.
- Effectively cascade market information including industry/coverage trends.
- Identify and monitor sales issues with client and carriers, including regular touch points to address and resolve
- Participate in the development/execution of strategic initiatives and projects as set out by the Director, SBS.
**What does it take?**
- Progressive and broad experience in insurance with 3-5 years technical experience (client service, sales, marketing, etc.).
- RIBO License is required
- CAIB, CRM, CIP or other industry designations would be an asset.
- Prior leadership experience an asset.
- A history of external relationship accountability.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Business acumen (strategic thinking, business knowledge, results driven, solution oriented, client-focused approach).
- Decision-making and disciplined execution (thoughtful decision-making, strong negotiation skills and accountability).
- Teamwork and collaboration (building relationships, strong communication skills - both verbal and written including presentation skills).
- Personal effectiveness (integrity, adaptability, resilience, results-driven, self-development).
