**_This is a contract position that will last up to one year._**

**Summary**: The Specialized Service Coordinator (SSC) offers adults with a developmental disability, living with their families, person-directed planning, service coordination, service brokerage, and network resource development. Person-directed planning is an open ended process that is centred on the person, is based on their strengths, and promotes choice and decision-making. Through service coordination SSCs help people fulfil their plan and enrich their lives by assisting them to build networks and explore opportunities and available resources. SSCs also teach people with direct funding how to budget, find human resource, and monitor support so that they are inclusive, accountable and responsive to their unique needs.

**Qualifications**: Degree or Diploma in the Social Sciences or demonstrated equivalency through experience. Member in good standing with the respective professional association or college. Experience in person-centred planning and social service brokerage. Experience in and knowledge of services to individuals with a developmental disability. Familiarity with other community services and private sector services. Demonstrated aptitude for broad exploration of new and unique means of attaining goals. A positive thinker and outgoing personality is important. Demonstrated ability to relate to individuals with a developmental disability with sensitivity and respect. Ability to initiate the helping process with a wide variety of individuals, work independently and organize self to respond to high work demands is required. Intermediate knowledge of personal computer operation including word processing, data entry, and file management required. Excellent communication skills and conflict resolution skills are required. Ability to speak French will be considered an asset.

**Conditions of Employment**: Valid driver's license, use of a vehicle and appropriate insurance coverage. Successful completion of Criminal Reference Check. Completion of Conflict of Interest declaration and Oath of Confidentiality.

**Job Type**: Contract

Pay: $32.01-$34.89 per hour
