Tantramar Seniors College is a not-for-profit organization with charitable status dedicated to the principle of life-long learning by promoting seniors teaching to and learning from seniors. Membership is open to anyone over 50. No other conditions apply. The areas covered are Amherst, Codiac (Dieppe, Moncton, Riverview), Sackville, and Shediac, each with its Regional Team.
The position of Coordinator for Tantramar Seniors College is an indefinite, part-time position which provides administrative and coordination support to the TSC President, Treasurer, Board of Directors, Regional Teams, and members. The office is located at 16 Lorne St, Sackville, New Brunswick, E4L 3Z7. More information about TSC may be found on our website at, and on our Facebook Page.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently, and as part of a team
- Driver’s licence and access to an automobile
- Initiative, flexibility, adaptability
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administration
- Receives bills and revenue (grants, registration fees, donations), and ensures that the Treasurer has knowledge of these activities. Prepares cheques for signature. Deposits revenue, keeping a list of where each deposit comes from. Issues official income tax receipts for donations. Mails all payments. Tracks hours of employees, including his/her own, and submits them to the Treasurer every two weeks.
- Maintains the college website and ensures that current and accurate information is uploaded to the website.
- Maintains the college Facebook page, posting exciting information, notices and photos as deemed appropriate. Updates should occur often.
- The coordinator is responsible for the upkeep of the Lafford Classroom, including overseeing safe entry during snow season, and cleaning the classroom, office, and washroom.
- Maintains all records, including the database, and documents of the College
- Performs other tasks as might be assigned by the President or Vice-President.
- Support of the Board
- At the call of the secretary, takes Minutes of Board meetings, and send out after consulting with the secretary.
- Organizes meetings in-person, or via Zoom as required
- Attends all Board meetings and the AGM; attends committee meetings as required.
- Membership
- Membership may be paid at any of the three registrations in Selptember, January, or April, and is good for one year from Payment date
- Receives membership dues, keeps account of payment date, updates the database, and send out renewal notices
- Keeps statistics on membership for each registration
- Registration, Support of Regional Teams, Support of Teaching and Learning
- Receives Board approved courses for the upcoming term from the four Regional Teams
- Uploads these courses onto the website and into the President’s Newsletter
- Keeps a record of course changes, cancellations, complaints
- Prepares and distributes lists of course participants to instructors and Liaison persons
- Advises Regional Team Chairs and/or Liaisons when courses are full and advises members when their course registration request cannot be filled.
- Database to be updated by inputting membership payments and registrations
- Reconciles membership and registration forms with related revenue
- Job Parameters:
- Indefinite, part-time
- Part time hours: 5 to 20 hours per week depending on time of year
- Wages: $22.00 during probation, raise after that
- Probation Period: 3 months
- Posted regular office hours: example Tues 9:00-11:00
- Work location hybrid - office in Sackville NB, some hours could be remote
- Three months notice of termination must be given by either the College or the coordinator; however the College may dismiss the coordinator immediately for just cause.
