**Position Overview**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead the crop production operation with accountability for yield performance, plant health, and quality standards.
- Direct daily crop tasks including seeding, transplanting, harvesting, sanitation, and maintenance of grow environments.
- Develop and manage seeding, transplanting, and harvest schedules to align with sales forecasts and operational targets.
- Perform daily crop health checks and monitor environmental parameters using Hoogendoorn (or equivalent) systems.
- Analyze production data, environmental logs, and yield records to identify trends and implement improvements.
- Conduct ongoing crop trials, nutrient adjustments, and variety testing to optimize yields and plant performance.
- Collaborate with the Head of Operations on equipment, inventory, and production planning needs.
- Provide regular reporting to management on yield performance, crop health, food safety, and shelf-life metrics.
- Uphold strict food safety, biosecurity, and sanitation protocols throughout the production area.
- Support training, supervision, and daily coordination of grow team members.

**Qualifications**
- 5+ years of experience in Controlled Environment Agriculture with a strong yield and quality track record.
- Degree or diploma in Horticulture, Agriculture, Plant Science, Botany, or a related field.
- Advanced knowledge of plant physiology, hydroponic systems, and environmental controls.
- Experience in multi-tiered, LED-lit vertical farming or greenhouse environments.
- Proficiency with climate control systems: Hoogendoorn experience highly desirable; Damatex familiarity considered an asset.
- Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-starter, comfortable leading teams and working independently.
- Experience with food safety protocols and third-party audit standards considered a plus.
