Vision Greens ) is a Welland-based vertical farming organization dedicated to bringing sustainable produce to all Canadians. Our controlled environment facility uses patented space technology to produce 1 million pounds of leafy greens annually, using more than 95% less land and water than regular crop farms.

Our lettuce is sustainably grown, pesticide-free, longer-lasting, and better tasting than other packaged lettuces, which is why it's called the World's Best Lettuce.

Key Accountabilities

Functional

• Responsible for all aspects of crop production in an automated growing facility which includes seeding, germination, transplanting, harvesting, nutrition and climate control
• Meet weekly production targets achieving highest standards in yield and quality
• Manage the full cultivation cycle from seeding to harvest
• Create seeding, transplant and harvest plans
• Implement strategies to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve crop quality
• Set processes and procedures that align with assigned metrics and output targets
• Provide metric-based reports (daily, weekly and monthly) that highlight actionable insights and solutions for optimal performance and improvement regarding yield, quality and trials
• Plan, coordinate, and execute continuous improvement projects

People

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate employee activities, including training and supervision
• Set production processes aligned with employee safety and all health and safety regulations
• Provide staff training and skill development as required
• Provide ongoing feedback and leadership regarding daily requirements, goals, metrics and performance targets

Qualifications and Requirements

• Experience within a Controlled Environment Agricultural environment: hydroponic growing or greenhouse growing environment - minimum 5 years
• Minimum 3 years in a Leadership role
• Strong Communication Skills
• Experience with Canada Gap protocols
• Strong problem-solving capability demonstrated both individually and collaboratively; ability to execute workable solutions to business challenges
• Well organized with excellent attention to detail
• Able to develop and lead processes quickly and effectively
• High Performance-orientation
• College Diploma

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
