Base pay range $28.00/hr - $30.00/hr Position Details Job Type: Part-Time Pay: $28-30 hourly FLSA: Non-Exempt Location: Ontario, Canada Travel: Limited What We Will Expect From You The HR Generalist will be an integral part of the Verbio HR North America team and is primarily responsible for administering all Human Resources related functions within Verbio Diesel Canada and its production plant. This position will report directly to the Head of HR for North America with a dotted line to the VDC plant President and is a part‑time hourly position. Essential Functions Of The Job Assume all day‑to‑day HR operations Prepare payroll information and submit for processing on a bi‑weekly basis; responsible for all payroll preparation related tasks Prepare and provide various HR related reports for VERBIO Germany and Head of HR N.A. Ensure compliance with labour regulations and payroll related tax laws Responsibilities Assist in talent acquisition and recruitment processes (drafting and publishing job descriptions, preliminary screening of applications, coordinating with hiring managers, drafting offer letters/employment contracts and overall candidate communication) Conduct employee onboarding and off‑boarding Maintain employee personnel files and records Help administer benefit plans and employee administration within the plans Assist with performance reviews, annual targets, and interim competency interviews; collaborate with managers to help establish objectives and targets Provide support to employees and managers in various HR‑related topics such as employee relations, leave of absence and compensation Assist in development and implementation of HR policies and local guidelines Back‑up support for the Office Administrator Other duties as assigned Qualifications Proven work experience as an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner, preferably in the biofuels production/plant environment Familiarity with HRIS, Applicant Tracking Systems and resume databases (Paycor is preferred) Experience with talent sourcing techniques Basic knowledge of employment laws and regulations 4‑year university degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or a comparable course of study or experience Physical And Work Environment Requirements This role operates in both an office and manufacturing plant environment. When present in the plant, the employee must be able to wear and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE), which may include flame‑resistant (FR) clothing, safety glasses, hard hat, safety‑toe boots, hearing protection, and gloves. The position involves primarily office‑based work, including prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, as well as regular movement throughout the facility. This may include standing, walking on the production floor, and transitioning between sitting, standing, and walking as needed during the workday. The plant is a wholly owned subsidiary of VERBIO SE and has been operating since August 2019. The plant is currently designed to run on canola and soybean oil and produces crude glycerin and biodiesel transportation fuel as outputs. We are currently developing plans to eventually double the nameplate capacity of the plant, accept different types of feedstocks, and implement several of VERBIO’s proprietary technologies, including crude oil refining and crude glycerin distillation.
