We are looking for a **Permanent Full-time**, **YJC Job Placement Specialist** for our **Etobicoke **branch.

**Key Job Functions**
- Creates, updates and case manages the client service plan in real-time
- Collects client direct deposit and relays the information to HR and designated Placement Coordinator to facilitate efficient payment of stipend payments on a weekly basis.
- Assists clients obtain meaningful employment through one-on-one job coaching with the client including resume critique, mock interviews and referrals to pre-employment services.
- Assesses a client’s motivation through motivational interviewing during the intake and assessment as well as job development orientation meeting.
- Ensures intake of suitable and eligible youth into the program as per Youth Job Connection guidelines set out by MLTSD.
- Supports clients through independent job search activities by monitoring weekly collection of job logs.
- Advocates for and promotes clients’ skillsets to employers through effective sales and marketing techniques, while ensuring fit for both the employer and client to support positive employment outcomes.
- Makes appropriate referrals for youth to services within the community that will increase employability: health, mental health, education, training, legal, hosing, family services, income supports etc.
- Tracks, monitors and achieves individual targets, as mandated by the MLTSD and the Supervisor, Job Development, pertaining to placements, job matching and placement incentives (JMPI), participant suitability criteria, placements and employer incentives and personal support expenditures.
- Keeps current with prevailing labour market conditions as well as new developments within local and regional labor markets to support service coordination and job development.
- Strengthens new and existing employer relationships through placement and training agreement negotiations.
- Monitors and supports placement through site visits and follow-up activity as per the Placement Monitoring schedule.
- Maintains involvement in the local community, by organizing and attending events such as hiring and job fairs, employer panels, and networking groups.
- Works with the Business Development Unit to identify needs in the branch for targeted and structured employer events and outreach.
- Consistently support the achievement of all branch targets.
- Responsible for Employer Incentive and client employment and training supports budget expenditure.
- Other duties pertaining to the position, as required.
