The Job Preparation and Placement Counsellor (JPPC) works with a wide variety of local employers on behalf of clients to place them in employment opportunities. The JPC provides employers with information, specifically, to advocate the advantages of hiring clients from the employment services and the value that they bring to their organization. Continually develops job placement opportunities for program participants while promoting clients of diverse backgrounds through Job Carving, Job Development, and Job Matching by assessing “fit” with the position and organization.
We are looking for a Permanent Full-time, Job Placement Counsellor for our Lawrence branch.
**Key Job Functions**
- Through the comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Employment Ontario, including the current labor market, you will support and advocate for our clients, to employers to create sustainable employment.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of our services, eligibility of programs that we administer through Employment Ontario, and how we can support the individual needs of job seekers.
- Continuously engaging and supporting clients with employment preparation activities, documenting progress in their employment action plan
- Documenting case notes
- Completes administrative functions, including scheduling appointments, and completing paperwork, which includes administering placement agreements for employer incentives and maintaining files to ensure compliance
- Coaches and motivates clients throughout their job search and during their job placements toward securing meaningful and sustainable employment opportunities.
- Keeps current with prevailing labor market conditions as well as new developments within local and regional labor markets to support service coordination and job development.
- Establishes and strengthens new and existing employer relationships in diverse industries and continuously develops job placement opportunities for clients,
- Responsible for job starts to ensure targets are consistently met.
- Other duties pertaining to the position, as required.
